Copyright and Music Policy

Before uploading

• Confirm that you hold the necessary rights or valid permission for photos, videos, compositions, lyrics, phonograms, performances and recordings.
• Buying music, listening through a subscription, crediting a source or using a short excerpt does not automatically grant a sharing license.
• Background music audible in a video can also infringe rights. If necessary, remove the audio or use the INDEX catalog with verified licenses.
• Obtain the necessary permissions for the image, voice and personality rights of people appearing in the content.

INDEX music catalog

The app may offer CC0 or public-domain recordings whose license information has been checked at the source and considered suitable for INDEX. Catalog information may contain errors or rights status may change; when a questionable recording is reported, its use is stopped and reviewed.

Original audio or music outside the catalog is user content. The uploader is responsible for the required rights and permissions.

Reporting infringement

If you are a rights holder or authorized representative, write to index.app@outlook.com with the subject "Copyright Infringement Report". Include your contact information, the protected work, the INDEX account/content alleged to infringe, an explanation of ownership or authority, a good-faith statement and your electronic signature.

Incomplete or clearly abusive reports may be returned for more information. A valid report may lead to content access being disabled; the uploader may be given an opportunity to appeal; legally required information may be shared with competent authorities.

Include a link or identifier sufficient to locate the content. Where the US DMCA procedure applies, accuracy and authority statements are made under penalty of perjury. Required contact information in notices and counter-notices may be forwarded to the other party; submit only necessary information.

Appeals and counter-notices

If removal resulted from misidentification or error, appeal to the same address with the content identifier, reasons and permission evidence. Where a DMCA counter-notice applies, it requires a signature, the content’s previous location, a sworn good-faith statement of mistake, name/address/telephone and consent to the relevant federal court’s jurisdiction and service. A compliant counter-notice follows the statutory 10–14 business-day restoration process unless litigation is notified. Knowingly false notices may create liability.

Repeated infringements and responsibility

Repeated or serious intellectual property infringement may lead to content deletion, upload restrictions or account closure. Users are responsible for their infringing content to the extent permitted by applicable law; INDEX's mandatory statutory obligations remain in effect.
